Four of Poker’s Charming Players
No Joke, millions of players want to be the next "mega star" in poker, but here is a short list of four of the more noteworthy "great guys" of the game. Despite the fact that "nice" is connected with their names when you are playing them it is "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have removed you out of the game!
Daniel Negreanu
In 2004, his tourney winnings added up to in excess of $4.4 million and he won two highly admired awards in the WSOP Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Competition Player of the Year. In February 2006 he was named Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. Daniel even still has the decency to talk with his fans about how they will be able to advance their own game.
Howard Lederer
Referred to as "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker pro Annie Duke. His success has allowed him to make an educational poker video called "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and co hosting a tournament poker show for Fox TV. As of 2005, his total life time winnings surpass $2.7 million.
Scotty Nguyen
Scott is one of the most active players in professional poker and between Two Thousand and 2004 he placed in the money in more than one hundred tournaments. He is noted for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker matches and also coined the phrase "that’s poker baby" when referring to a particularly bad loss. As of Two Thousand and Six, his career earnings are almost six million dollars.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has captured 5 World Series of Poker titles with two of his wins happening in 2003. Has the nickname "Jesus" due to his trademark long hair and beard, and is able to toss cards quick enough to slice through pickles and bananas. As of Two Thousand and Five his total poker tournament winnings exceeded 5 million dollars.
