No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His grandfather introduced him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to discover everything he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the adverse feedback from others annihilate his dream of being one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.
He started playing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to discipline and an undying passion for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. He admits to making blunders in each session of poker and constantly strives to improve.
Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a normal basis.
