Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the final game in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest enthusiasts around the world. While gambling on web poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus usually buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Gus is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has no reason to play at the table with the min buy-in.
Playing for the min takes most of the skill out of deep stack poker. Gus is supposed to be one of the best poker players in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amount. I think tv can alter our view of the real world at times. The best players anywhere in the world could be guys you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be seen participating in internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in high stakes omaha/8 and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash games?
